How do sports encourage eating disorders in athletes?

In this article on sports in anorexia and bulimia they talk about how athletes and eating disorders connect. Their purpose is to inform readers about how sports can cause anorexia and bulimia and also to tell them how to help those that develop this and more. The main idea is that athletes are at greater risks for developing eating disorders and that they can be fatal if they are not taken care of immediately. This article doesn’t contain any conflicting evidence but it does contain some bias which leans towards the opinion that you should be careful because eating disorders in athletes are dangerous. This source is a reliable source because it is a site that is used by lots of people and it is well known to be reliable, it also passes the common sense test. Another reason is that it refers to a college that specializes in sports medicine and it gives other additional information or sites that have more information to add to this. This source contains useful information that can help but this source may not be that reliable, even though it contains good information. Because it is on about.com and its writers can be fake or a random person from ages ranging from young to old. Anyone can post stuff on about.com which is another reason that this article may not be that reliable.
